Random Freezes/Lock Ups That Last Between 3-5 Seconds

For the past 8 months or so I have had consistent freezes that happened at least 3 times a day. It can range between 1 hour to 3 hours between them, but it always happens. What generally happens is if there is sound playing, it will freeze the note and blast it, if there’s video it will freeze, and if there is a game, it will usually freeze and then come back. The biggest annoyance is with my VR headset, it’ll completely crash and I will need to re-open my Oculus software and go through device setup.

Looking through event viewer, every time it happens, there are about 15-50 logs that are created with the Event Ids: 4624, 5379, and 4798. I’ve run system check, memtest, all with it finding no issues. (See Picture, this is one instance)

Couple of things of note in Speccy, Windows is out of date and you have the power plan set to high performance, your attachment above also shows a problem with Windows.

For you to do for now;

Change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, High Performance is a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues.

Get Windows fully up to date.

Post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Alright, changed my power mode to Balanced and I updated windows. The model number for the PSU is ATA-800FB-B.

Can you post an updated Speccy url for us.

Not heard of that brand of PSU so had to use Google and they are apparently an OEM brand that Cyberpower use

You have a high end build there and should not be using anything less than a Gold efficiency rated PSU from a proven brand and allowing for the additional storage devices that you have and the GTX 1070 GPU I would recommend a minimum of 650W.

Can I ask that you do not quote every reply, it really does not help any and just makes for unnecessary reading, thanks.

For sure, also, my PSU is 800w and is an OEM, I’ll definitely look into getting a better PSU that’s gold. Regarding the behavior, I haven’t received any freezes yet. I’ll let you know if that changes, also here is my updated speccy: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/p...2zKAwALmSYeEMz 3

A better PSU will protect your hardware for the long term, Corsair, EVGA and Seasonic are the brands that I use and nothing with less than a seven year warranty,

Your Windows is still out of date so now that the computer appears to be stable I suggest that you create a new system restore point then update Windows to the latest 1903 version Get the Windows 10 May 2019 Update

So far no freezes at all. It seems like lowering my power settings to balanced fixed it. This baffles me because even under stress tests, like Firestrike, my temps are all fine. GPU never goes above 70 and my CPU’s water cooler helps it to the point where it never goes over 83. Either way, I appreciate all the help.
