Microsoft Photos showing all photos as duplicates?

When i sort through my photos in Microsoft photos and delete one, it goes to the next photo and shows it as the same photo I just deleted even though in reality its a completely different photo. I just eneded up deleting like 20 photos becuase i thought it wasn’t deleting the one I was trying to get rid of. Does anyone know why this is happening.

    Hello

Is this on win 10? Did you have any updates lately?

Yes this is on Windows 10, it last updated on the 10th, but only just started doing this yesterday.

May not be of assistance, never used the garbage Microsoft Photos, but see if you have update KB4515384 and if you do uninstall it and try photos again.

Better still get a better picture viewer like XNVIEW, or IRFANVIEW, ETC

Agree with Gus, MS Photos is a strange beast, it tries to categorise pics like Apple does and makes it look like you have photos all over the place.
I’m never sure if I’m dealing with the actual pic, a thumbnail or some sort of virtual copy based on some field like location, date taken etc.
I only use File Explorer, that way you know what it is and where it lives. For editing, I need nothing more then MS Picture manager which I load from my Office 2007 discs.

Yeah I’ve decided to just go with Fast Stone Image Viewer. It seems to work fine, I just have to get used to it.

                Do you consider this solved?
