Newly built PC won't connect to the internet

So I just finished building my first PC this weekend and everything is working great except the internet Iโ€™ve installed the most recent drivers from the motherboard website (MSI Z390-A PRO) and the device manager says they are working. Iโ€™ve tried it on several networks so I know itโ€™s not the router itself because it gave me the same โ€œunidentified network / no internetโ€ Iโ€™ve looked at the firewalls and everything should be fine on that end. Any help is greatly appreciated

I got it working โ€ฆturns out my motherboard Ethernet port is incredibly picky and the cable has to sit in it just right and doesnโ€™t click in

any chance it is the cable rather than the port?

Brand new cable that works perfectly fine on two other pcs so I highly doubt it
