    Mystery G-Drive

    Hi,

My 5 year old Dell is telling me that my G Drive is almost full, every time I boot up. I then click a pop up that aims to free more space on it.
    The thing is - I donโ€™t have a G-drive(?!!) - only a C and D drive.

The G drive is listed in the File Explorer as a Local Driveโ€ฆthere is one USB port that doesnโ€™t work - are they connected in some way?

The PC seems to be slowing down recently and Iโ€™m wondering if it has something to do with this?

    Thanks.

    Download Usb Drive Info.
Then unzip it to your desktop.
    Right Click USB Drive Info.
    Run as Admin.
    Click on the drives tab.
Screen shot that and post it here in your next reply.
Use Imgur if the image is to large to host here.

There was a problem with 1809 which was showing the recovery drive & saying it was full, this was due to an update adding a drive letter to this partition. Could this be the problem in your case?
The solution was to remove the drive letter:
Click your Start Button, type cmd, then right click Command Prompt and choose โ€˜Run as Administratorโ€™

Run this command and hit Enter

      diskpart

Run this command and hit Enter

select volume X (Replace X with the actual drive letter - G)

Run this command and hit Enter

remove letter=X (Replace X with the drive letter - G)

Close Command Prompt and the problem will be resolved

If this is too confusing then you should also be able to remove the drive letter via drive/disc management.
