The issue may be that this older motherboard may not support audio through the Display port. Perhaps the issue is the age of the machine. I checked and there are no drivers for windows 10. The manufacturer only supports up to windows 7.
As for the auxiliary audio in port, I was totally aware of it and thought about using it, but it is a single RCA connector so wonโt carry stereo. I actually do own the cable about which you spoke but havenโt even tried it yet, knowing that I could only connect one of my two stereo channels, forsaking the other. So I chose to pursue the DP-to-HDMI adapter instead. If that proves a dead end then I may opt for the former or continue with my cumbersome clutter of detached stereo speakers, not quite sure yet.
Iโll try that Scanrapide soon. Again, I am so very grateful!

If you could grab it and plug it in and test how it works for you and let me know. I honestly think that getting this older DP to carry the audio when the motherboard doesnโt support windows 10 isnโt really going to be an option.
From your computers support siteโฆ
Integrated HD audio with AD1884A codec (all ports are stereo)
On a side note: I did notice however that there are a lot of errors going on with your machine and a couple of things installed that could be removed. Perhaps there is a lot of clutter on this machine and could stand to be cleaned up a bit.
I downloaded Scanrapide but Windows-10 security deems it to be a โsevereโ threat
(Trojan:Script/Foretype.A!ml) and removed it. Arggh.
I presume it pokes and prods too much. I suppose I could override and allow it.
Any suggestion?
I thought I had that cable but it was only a look-alike, smaller than 3.5mm, micro-miniature, from some oddball digital camera. Iโll acquire the correct cabling in a few days but I pretty much expect it to work, though at the expense of half of my stereo output. I doubt I could locate a cable that merges audio into a single RCA. On older Windows you could instruct the system to transmit sound in monaural (thru both channels) but alas I donโt see that capability on this W-10.
Sure Iโll override and run Scanrapide, and I have made a donation for you folks.

Not the entire Scanrapide log? I am shocked. The pgm wrote it to my root directory, 131000 characters and change; I opened that, selected all and copied and pasted. You want me to do it again??
If for some reason the scan is incomplete again just use this tool for me please.
Quick Diag Scan.
Download Quick Diag to your desktop.
Very Important!! โ Make sure program is on your desktop.

Select the Quick Scan.
Here is that 1st log file attached. I didnโt rerun the pgm. Sorry for confusion, if any.
As for CCleaner, I do not see a โMonitorโ entry under โOptionsโ. Maybe you are using the pro version. I am Ok with doing some cleaning but I do not wish to delete all browser cookies willy-nilly or history or even cache. I am not displeased with my machineโs performance and the hard disk space has barely been touched. As for AdwCleaner I am not displeased with advertising intrusions: I see some in my browser and that is unavoidable. I see zero evidence of anything hijacking my browser or other unfair intrusions. My main purpose here is that audio output. Thanks anyway.
