Pc suddenly really slow

Hi my name is Max, over the last few days my pc has been running extremely slow and I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix it and nothing is working. I have checked for viruses, deleted unneeded files and even gone as far as wiping everything on my hard drive. I have an Ryzen 7 2700x a RX 580 8gb a GA-AB350-Gaming 3 and 16gb of Corsair Vengence RGB pro ram. I’d really appreciate if someone could help me figure out why my pc is running extremely slow.

In addition to the info that vger has requested, can you also post the brand and model name or number of the PSU and whether or not you have re installed the chipset drivers for the motherboard after the clean install of Windows.

Also Phillpower2 I am not sure what my PSU model name or number is I got this pc and a gift in 2017 and I just upgraded the cpu gpu and ram, also I should have the most recent chipset I can see if there is a new one.

If using a computer and not a mobile phone, please avoid adding multiple posts while waiting for us to reply to your last, edit your last post to include anything that you wish to add, this will ensure nothing gets overlooked which can sometimes happen if a thread has more than one page (it also avoids filling up folks inbox).

The CPU temp reading is an obvious anomaly and one that is sometimes caused by a MBs own monitoring software or sensor.

While i look at the rest of your Speccy report, change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced as the High performance setting is a form of overclocking that causes both instability and overheating.

If you managed to upgrade the CPU, GPU and RAM you should have no problem taking off the side of the case to get the PSU information for us, we cannot safely help you if we do not have this information.

My power supply’s model is hpg-600st-f12s, my motherboard should be factory settings, and I’m not really sure what is wrong with my ram(I forgot to mention I have 8 more gigs that came with the pc I don’t know what it is specifically I can get or remove the ram if needed

You need to get yourself a decent PSU asap as there is only one thing that is worse than using a known poor quality brand of PSU and that is using one that is unheard of, for brands of PSU to trust and brands to avoid please refer to the PSU guidance links in my signature below.

You need a good quality brand 500W PSU with a minimum of 33 amps on the +12V rail and preferably a Gold efficiency rated model.

We can check your temps and voltages for you if you like but I strongly suggest that you do not overload the computer by gaming while the present PSU is still fitted.

Ok I went and got a new psu its an EVGA with 600W 12v and 49 amps
I have also installed it
Cpu still says its at 150C on speccy which I still don’t believe

As long as the PSU that you have purchased is not the entry level White efficiency rated model it should be ok with the RX 580 GPU.

It was explained in my reply #6 that the CPU temp reading was an obvious anomaly and one that is sometimes caused by a MBs own monitoring software or sensor, swapping in a new PSU will have no bearing on this.

Have you changed the Windows Power Plan to Balanced and made sure that you have the latest chipset drivers installed, the drivers must be downloaded direct from the Gigabyte website or installed from any installation disk that may have been supplied with the board.

Any improvement with the new PSU powering the system.

I believe the PSU is silver rated and I will test it out today to see if it made an improvement. Also I am on Balanced with the latest chipset drivers. I am probably going to buy a new motherboard even if the PSU does help just to have a more updated motherboard and so I can have a working sensor.
I will let you know in the next few days if the PSU has helped.

It will not be Silver as that efficiency rating is on the decline and as far as I am aware EVGA only ever made the one Silver rated PSU and it was 1200W.

No need to purchase a new MB unless you want one, the sensor reading as explained can sometimes happen if a MBs own software does not like any third party software.

As mentioned in my reply #8 we can check your temps and voltages using other means, let us know and we can provide you with the info.

Which is an online game that requires a fast and stable internet connection, check your Speccy report at the bottom and you will see a whole load of internet connections that are attempting to be made.

Yeah my frames on games are really still really bad I guess we can check my temps and volts or whatever else to try and fix this problem
