Computer doesnt pick up Headset microphone

Hello, i am a windows 10 user and I used to have problems with my microphone. I use a headset and it would show that the microphone was plugged in but it just wouldn’t pick up any sound. I figured i would by a whole new headset and i also found i needed an audio splitter since my headset had only one aux thing to plug in. I got my new headset and audio splitter and everything was perfectly fine. Sound worked fine, computer picked up mic. But today it is having the same problem as i described before. I checked my privacy settings and they seem good. I have unistalled my devices and reinstalled them and the drivers. I tried to configure my microphone and that doesnt work. I If anyone can help me on this it would be greatly appreciated.
