    Sd Card Bricked?

So I tried to format a 64GB SD card to FAT32. The format got to the end and didnt progress for 5 mins (yes it was quick format). SO i "closed"the format.

After I do that I notice win explorer.exe got slow and not responding in task manager and most programs dont open… after a few minutes I figured out it was the SD card. if I remove it everything works fine. I opened up minitool with the sd card in (after a million attempts) it shows the SD card as β€œbad disk”. if I open the cmd prompt and try to run chkdsk /r on it it just doesnt do anything. If I try to right click the drive in windows to format it again the pointer arrow start loading and explorer.exe gets un responsive again.

All I wanna do is format the cvard so its usuable again. SUrely I didnt just brick a card havent even had 24 hours yet?

ok so it looks like whatever happened actually messed up my sd card slot on my laptop… I took the SD card in question. Plugged it into a usb sd car reader and it worked fine. I then took an SD card that i KNOW works and put it in my SD carrd slot and IT is oing the same thing I mentioned above in the first post

      Hello

It could be the explorer.exe crashing… Need to tag some members who would know more about that..

I’d love to think it’s just explorer.exe and not the sd card slot. But if it is explorer.exe why does it only crash under the conditions listed above and why did the slot originally work just fine until I took out an sd card that didnt finish formatting due to the format freezing at the end?

bought it from a store. But I fixed it. Went into device manged and uninstalled the sd card reader. restarted the PC and it was back in device manager (as expected) then I clicke don update drivers it found some and installed it. Everythings working again now.
