Please help my pc wont load up

Hey . My PC turns on goes to msi splash screen then wont load up to desktop. Screen just goes black after a minute or so. I can take photos and all that . I’m not the most tech savvy guy but any help would be much appreciated. I have a i8700k, Kingston ssd, gtx 1070,

and you are running what build of Win10?
has anything changed recently; Windows Updates, new hardware or software?
does it make the usual beep during startup, fans spin, power and hard drive LEDs come on?
what’s the dust buildup in the chassis like?

Hi Bruce. The PC was custom built in November last year. It’s running windows 10 . It was working fine the other day then I brought it out to work ( I work away ) and nothing past splash screen yeah mate all power led’s are good. Minimal dust build up which is why I thought I may have bumped something but not sure as all cords I could reach are all plugged in properly. Thanks for you reply.

Sorry but I’m not sure about mother board and it wont let me take a photo ( says file is too big )is there something on it that will tell me what it is so I can let you know? And same with power supply? Everything was brought brand new in November last year. If you tell me why to look for I will have a look and get back. Wont br for a few hours though as I’m off to bed. Thanks for your reply though.

as to the PC specs, get Speccy from here; Speccy - Download Builds
in Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
now you can paste(Ctrl+V) that link into a post.

so you moved it and then it wouldn’t start.
I see that a fair bit after a move!
my money is on some dust has relocated itself and is causing your issue.
2 components that are usually the culprits are the memory chips and/or the graphics card.

if it’s a desktop unit, take of the side cover, remove each memory chips, wipe the contacts and the motherboard slot and re-insert them one at a time and test the PC.
then do the same if you have an add-on graphics card.

if it’s a laptop, flip it over and see if it has any access panels - if so, one of them will be to the memory chips.

To answer jmarket post about your motherboard. From the look of the specs you have already given your pc is a desktop. If you take the side cover off your pc you should see some information typed into the motherboard, normally in quite large type. Can you post what you see from that please?

You may also see a sticker on the power supply that identifies the brand and model, as well as total wattage, which you could also post?

Yeah it’s a desktop. I will definitely try all that when I finish work and let you know how it goes. Thanks heaps for your help i really appreciate it
