I just got a windows 10 pc and was wondering if anyone can tell me what this symbol is for? Thanks.

not on mine and never seen that one before - so it’s not part of Windows 10 itself that I’m aware of.
maybe part of bloatware with the new PC?
hover you mouse over it, or right click it, or double click it and see what happens…

ah, that explains it not being on my PC, it’s the first thing I turn off when 1803 came out.

It’s called “Task View” in W10. It came out when version 1803 was released and has been there ever since.

That rings a bell with me too, have 3 PC’s with 1803 vaguely remember it on the taskbar. Must have been too busy disabling Win 10 stuff.

To get rid of it from your taskbar if you don’t want it, simply right click a blank spot on your taskbar and click on “Show Task View button”

This will remove the tick beside it and also remove the icon from your taskbar.
