Windows Hello not supported on HP ProBook 450 G3?

Can anyone tell me why Windows Hello isn’t supported on my HP ProBook 450 G3? I have a camera and a fingerprint reader, granted I have tried everything to get the fingerprint reader to work but it for some reason doesn’t. I am running Windows 10 Pro 64, is it only supported in home editions or something?

Also can someone help me with this fingerprint reader problem. I chatted with HP for over an hour and let them remotely control my laptop and they messed around for atleast an hour and a half and couldn’t figure out why the fingerprint reader wasn’t working. I must have installed and reinstalled the driver for it atleast 10 times, but for some reason it never installs (well it says it installed but then I look n the list of installed drivers and its never there). I also chatted with Microsoft and they didn’t know why Windows Hello wasn’t supported. SO hopefully you guys can prove you are smarter then HP and Microsoft, that would be awesome.

I just installed the driver for the fingerprint reader and I am now downloading Security Manager. But I have done these steps before and the fingerprint reader didn’t work, but hopefully it does this time. I’ll update in about a half hour.

Okay soooo, I installed the driver and Security client, but when I go to the option to enroll my fingerprint it says I need to connect the fingerprint scanner device. SO I checked my BIOS, under Built in Device Options and there is no fingerprint scanner in there, so I checked Device Manager, under System Devices there is no fingerprint scanner, so I checked System Information>Software Enviroment>System Drivers and there is no fingerprint scanner listed under system drivers, even though I know for a fact I installed the driver, it is located in C:\SWSetup\SP81058, this is the official driver off of the HP website.
Any ideas, like I said before I had HP remotely control my laptop about 8 months ago when I was trying to figure this out and they weren’t able to figure it out.

I’m wondering if maybe I’m going to have to open up my laptop and see if maybe the fingerprint scanner isn’t connected.

Well I attempted to take the laptop apart but it’s way too much work, plus I don’t have the right size torx for it. Do you guys have any ideas what I could do, because it’s still not working.

Hi Brandon. Have you tried updating your laptops BIOS to the latest version? Does Device Manager show any errors for any devices that are not working properly?
