win10 default colours

Was trying to get win10 text a bit darker -black on white background -as it seemed lacking in contrast -and seem to have gone into a high contrast theme that has changed appearance of everything radically
As I type this I have white letters on black and PC help forum panel at top of page is in orange !
Thats not too much of a problem but has changed all pen colours in cad software so that they dont print to correct widths

Can someone assist in getting back to basic startup colour theme (basicaly blue`s) that you get when installing Win 10 without any personaisation
Would appreciate it

Hello Crackerjack, right click on a blank space on your desktop, then click on personalise.

On the opening settings dialogue box there’s a couple of ways to change this but try this. Click High contrast settings.

Then select as below

Try that to see if it’s fixed, but if not

Again click personalise like before, then click β€œgo to themes” in the first settings dialogue. Then in the next box select one of the standard windows themes.

Many thanks fella Had been fishing around trying to get back to basics for quite a while β€”and its simple to a computer expert !!

Good on yer pal --up and running again !!

Dont want to mess up again but any suggestions for making black lettering a bit denser onscreen (Monitor colourse etc seem fine?)

You can indeed change the Windows default font but it involves editing the registry which if done incorrectly could really mess your system, so perhaps a safer way would be to try some different themes. On the settings page titled β€œBackground” they are towards the bottom of the page. Changing themes may not change the font but different colors used in the themes may make them look better to you?
