Error - P:\ refers to a location that is unavailable ???

    Hi Guys.
I keep getting this error popping up
β€œP:\ refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location”
    This is a External HD

Lets clean up all the old drivers related to your USB devices.

    [ul]
[li]Remove All usb connected items from the computer, only leave the mouse and keyboard installed. [/li][li]Download drivecleanup.zip to your desktop.[/li][li]CLICK HERE to determine whether you’re running 32-bit or 64-bit for Windows.[/li][li]Once the determination has been made, open either the 32-bit or 64-bit folder.[/li][li]Right Click the .exe on the inside of the folder, and Run as Administrator. [/li][li]A command prompt window will open, telling you what has been removed upon completion.[/li][li]Reboot your machine.[/li][li]Check the issue.[/li][/ul]

                Do not mean to interrupt.

What is the file name that show up in the x64 directory.
When you right click on the file are you selecting Run As Administrator?

Some times windows file manager (explorer) can be set to not show the file extensions.

You also have to be logged in as an Administrator User.

                      Hi there @gallorgs

It would appear you are getting advice on this topic from iHF and possibly other sources. I would advise you pick one or the other, as getting advice from 2 different sources can cause severe issues.

We don’t want to cause a conflict of answers. We only want to fix your issue

Is the External Hard Drive connected and are you seeing it?

Since if you did run the command that @Malnutrition stated to it may have created a new reference that that drive. Go into file manager see if it is listed.

ok it doesn’t look like I’m getting that message any more, but another problem has arisen, for some reason it doesn’t want to transfer files across to another drive

I seem to get 2 get 2 messages 1, error code 0X800703EE & 2, files is missing or has been altered (which is ot right as when I click onto the file I can see it

                            Any ideas please
