problem after partitioning drive

Hi there omar,

For Virtual Box, you have to obtain an ISO file of Windows 98, then mount it. If you wish to have a easy tutorial on how to do it, here’s one I found that explains it quite nicely

I followed the tutorial you kindly sent me but without success getting as far as creating a virtual machine and trying to get the relevant extension pack
it seems I was unable to mount w98 2nd edition with the cd containing an iso file image which I downloaded from a version bought from someone on ebay
On inserting this cd rom I got the following screen:
FATAL No bootable medium found. System halted

Two reasons that I can think of why you may get such a message, the ISO is no good and the drive where the ISO is has not been selected, I don[ICODE]t use a VM regular so not the best placed to advise you I[/ICODE]m afraid.

thanks again for your continued interest
after much difficulty I managed to install Win98 only to fail at the last hurdle: connecting to the internet!
No matter what I did with trying to change the virtual machine’s ‘network’ or ‘shared folders’ etc. I kept getting ‘this program has performed an illegal operation’ when I clicked on ‘internet explorer’!
I need to get on the internet to download the driver for my scanner.
Any ideas??

thanks–no further progress–I’m stuck at being unable to connect to the internet
My pc is on windows 10 and is connected by cable to broadband internet
the iso i got from ebay had a product key so i successfully managed to install Win 98
the problem is how to configure network connection— i used NAT process
i am a pc novice!
