For Virtual Box, you have to obtain an ISO file of Windows 98, then mount it. If you wish to have a easy tutorial on how to do it, hereβs one I found that explains it quite nicely
many thanks for your continued interest
I followed the tutorial you kindly sent me but without success getting as far as creating a virtual machine and trying to get the relevant extension pack
it seems I was unable to mount w98 2nd edition with the cd containing an iso file image which I downloaded from a version bought from someone on ebay
On inserting this cd rom I got the following screen:
FATAL No bootable medium found. System halted
Itβs been very frustrating!
Two reasons that I can think of why you may get such a message, the ISO is no good and the drive where the ISO is has not been selected, I don[ICODE]t use a VM regular so not the best placed to advise you I[/ICODE]m afraid.

after much difficulty I managed to install Win98 only to fail at the last hurdle: connecting to the internet!
No matter what I did with trying to change the virtual machineβs βnetworkβ or βshared foldersβ etc. I kept getting βthis program has performed an illegal operationβ when I clicked on βinternet explorerβ!
I need to get on the internet to download the driver for my scanner.
Any ideas??
Regards
Was unable to suggest anything else for omar Veeg and mentioned as such in reply #22, I did ask for a link to from where the Windows 98 ISO was obtained as that may be the crux of the problem.
