Has been updating for an hour

I started a windows update for my windows 10 laptop at 10:45pm. It’s now 11:52pm and it’s stuck on a black screen with the little loading circle at the bottom. I can’t check the hard drive activity because for some reason, the Fn-H hotkey to toggle the LED from battery status to HDD status does nothing. I hate leaving my computer overnight like this, but I’m gonna do it and I’ll let you know what it’s doing in the morning. I’ll probably force it to shut down if it’s still doing this in the morning.

Has been known to happen.
On many systems I was forced to use the Power Button.
Worst that happened, the system just restarted to correct.

AS of 6:15am the screen is dark and the laptop appears to be powered off. I’ll turn it on when I get home this afternoon and let you guys know what it does.

as a side note, and it’s not shown in your screen shot, but from what can be seen, that fluffy surface it’s on could cause the underside air vents some serious access issues.

If this is a Fall Creators update, depending on the machine may take ages to update, it is massive.

I turned it on at like 230pm, it finished installing the updates after the nice little windows 10 “hi” screen, and everything works fine.

I’m aware of this, but my laptop is so cheap that it doesn’t suck air from the bottom. It just has one vent on the side that sucks and exhausts.
