Has been updating for an hour

I started a windows update for my windows 10 laptop at 10:45pm. Itโ€™s now 11:52pm and itโ€™s stuck on a black screen with the little loading circle at the bottom. I canโ€™t check the hard drive activity because for some reason, the Fn-H hotkey to toggle the LED from battery status to HDD status does nothing. I hate leaving my computer overnight like this, but Iโ€™m gonna do it and Iโ€™ll let you know what itโ€™s doing in the morning. Iโ€™ll probably force it to shut down if itโ€™s still doing this in the morning.

      Has been known to happen.
On many systems I was forced to use the Power Button.
Worst that happened, the system just restarted to correct.

AS of 6:15am the screen is dark and the laptop appears to be powered off. Iโ€™ll turn it on when I get home this afternoon and let you guys know what it does.

as a side note, and itโ€™s not shown in your screen shot, but from what can be seen, that fluffy surface itโ€™s on could cause the underside air vents some serious access issues.

If this is a Fall Creators update, depending on the machine may take ages to update, it is massive.

I turned it on at like 230pm, it finished installing the updates after the nice little windows 10 โ€œhiโ€ screen, and everything works fine.

Iโ€™m aware of this, but my laptop is so cheap that it doesnโ€™t suck air from the bottom. It just has one vent on the side that sucks and exhausts.
