    Error 0x80070570

    Hello,
I had recently built my very own PC a few months ago. At the time I had built it, I had decided not to test my RAM for any defects, against my better judgement. Everything was fine for a month or so. However, one month in, my computer began randomly stopping programs, crashing, and even giving me the blue screen of death. All the errors pointed to a faulty RAM, and when I finally went around to doing a memory diagnostic test, several errors were found.
Naturally, I went ahead and got myself a replacement pair of RAM. This time, I made sure to run the memory diagnostic test before doing anything else. Fortunately, the results came clean. However, I was still having some minor problems with programs running properly. I decided maybe a fresh reset on my PC would allow things to work properly again.
Unfortunately, when I attempted to do a reset, Windows said that it was unable to reset my computer and that no changes were made. I decided to see if I could maybe re-install Windows with the USB that I had purchased. Whenever I tried going about that method, the installation goes up to about 20% only to stop and give me the 0x80070570 code. Iโ€™ve tried using different USB ports, but still no luck. Sometimes, my PC doesnโ€™t even recognize the USB.
At this point, I donโ€™t know if thereโ€™s something still wrong with my PC, or if the USB somehow became faulty. Before I replaced my RAM, I had no issues with resetting my PC or re-installing Windows (I did it a handful of times with the faulty RAM just to see if maybe that would help). But now, suddenly, with a new pair of RAM which are supposedly free of defect, Iโ€™m unable to even install Windows 10 now.
Sadly, now my PC is just a glorified paperweight because in the process of attempting to re-install Windows, I deleted the current OS on the hard drive, so itโ€™s completely unfunctional now. So, again, Iโ€™m at a loss. I just donโ€™t know if thereโ€™s an issue with my Windows USB, or if thereโ€™s a bigger issue with my PC that I donโ€™t know about.

During the re installation of windows did you delete the hard drive partitions or just install over the top? I guess you could try make a new windows 10 USB like here Download Windows 10
I have seen the Windows 10 USB play up before, Iโ€™d try that first.

Have you messed with any BIOS settings? if you have try reset BIOS defaults then install windows 10 off the new USB you made

      yep I checked
      0x80070570
Computer is not able to process certain files or settings required by Windows installation. The installation disk might be damaged or has incorrect permission.

I had deleted the hard drive partitions before installation. I havenโ€™t messed with any BIOS settings. I will try to make my own Windows 10 USB today and let you know if I have any luck. Still, I find it odd that my PC wasnโ€™t even able to perform a system refresh, which has entirely nothing to do with the original Windows 10 USB.

If I may ask a question while Matt is offline

Have you tried disabling secure boot?

Keep tapping the key that gets you into the BIOS while powering up.
Select Security โ†’ Secure Boot, and then Disabled.
Select Advanced โ†’ System Configuration, and then Boot Mode.
Change UEFI Boot to CSM Boot.
To save the change and exit the BIOS setup, press F10.

I havenโ€™t tried that yet, but Iโ€™ll go ahead and do that now. Iโ€™m slowly working on trying out different things, but still no luck with anything. Thanks for the suggestion!

            EDIT:
Finally got things working again. I finally got a USB for a new installation, and it worked fine there. Thanks again!

Glad to hear it and thank you for letting us know that the issue was resolved (y)

Did you have to disable secure boot to be able to get the USB thumb drive recognised.
