Error: Preparing for automatic repair

I don’t know what happened but, when I opened my computer today(From Shutdown), it is saying Preparing For Automatic Repair, then it shut down and did the same thing over and over again, there was no buttons I can press. It look something like this:

I am sorry to hear that you are having this issue. We can attempt to assist you with that.

Getting the automatic repair on every boot can be caused by a few different things. Bad registry, corrupted boot configuration, malware, or even a possible bad hard drive.

The first thing to check would be a bad boot config.

After your computer reboots a few times, you should see Windows 10 Boot Options menu. When Boot Options menu appears, you need to do the following:

[li]Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced Options.[/li][li]Select Command Prompt from list of options.[/li][li]When Command Prompt appears, enter the following lines and press Enter after each line in order to run it:[/li][ul]
[li]bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd[/li][li]bootrec.exe /fixboot[/li][/ul]
[/ol]

After running the commands, reboot your computer and see if the issue continues.

Hi Vasu, Welcome to PCHF!

If running the commands does not solve the problem that Twitch posted above, please open the Command Prompt window again from the advanced boot options screen and type in chkdsk C: /r and press enter.

Hopefully Check Disk will find and correct any errors in the file system and after it completes, reboot the computer and see if you can boot into Windows normally.
