Hi,
I am planning to get an SSD, to move my OS onto. I was wondering how big the Windows 10 OS actually is, so that I can get the correct SSD.
My PCβs specs: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/C...nJwF6bgDAk45Ep
Thanks.
I have 64-bit, but do I need more than 20GB, just for something else?
This is the space that windows 10 will need to run efficiently. Iβd suggest at least a 200 gig SSD for having a few games as well. Choice is yours based on your needs; and how many games you want to install.
All of my PCs have more than one drive. I use a 30 or 32GB SSD for the boot drive. For the PCs that have at least three drives, I also use a separate SSD for the user profiles.
It is possible, and easy, to move the user profiles (the entire Users folder) to a drive other than the boot drive. You could use Google and ask Kari about that.
I know that this is not an answer to your specific question, but I chimed in because of the fact that there is little to no difference in the cost of a 32GB SSD and any SSD smaller than 32GB. Any size under 120GB is like βno manβs landβ. Why bother?
Currently, drives in the 200GB to 256GB range are the sweet spot price-wise, so I wholly concur with Malnutrtion for a system with a single drive. But a careful shopper can have a 32GB SSD and 1TB HDD for under $80.
