Issue with installing Windows!

Hello everyone so I am struggling to install Windows on my new built PC. This thread is going to be long and I apologize. I built my new PC yesterday and it took couple hours. Then I tried figuring out how to install Windows for a couple more hours. In total about 12โ€ฆ So my motherboard is an EVGA Z170 Stinger and I have a 1Tb WD Hard drive, which I am trying to install Windows 10. I do not have a product key yet, but I was just trying to install Windows first. I am using a USB to install from the Windows Media Tool:

    ( Download Windows 10 )

There are many problems and errors that I keep coming across. The first problem is that I am not sure what I am suppose to put for the Boot Mode. There are two options: UEFI and Legacy. The default is UEFI, but when I have Legacy on it the Windows logo shows up when I save and reset. On the other hand UEFI does not but shows the Z170 Stinger logo then goes straight to the setup part.

When I first tried to install Windows I did not touch anything in the BIOS and went straight to the Windows installation, the Windows logo did not appear first. And I tried to go through with all of the settings and got this error:

Also when I have the Boot Mode set to Legacy I can see my hard drive and the USB, but I can not with UEFI. I of course have my USB that has the Windows tool on it set to Boot Option #1, and my hard drive second.

Link of Legacy vs UEFI & Boot Options:

Probably the main issue that I am having is when I set the Boot Mode to Legacy, have my USB as #1, and Save and reset. Then it actually showing the Windows logo and I go through the menu of installing, getting to the final step where it says โ€œWhere do you want to install Windowsโ€ I come across an error: โ€œWindows canโ€™t be installed on this driver (Show Details)โ€ as I click on the details is says โ€œWindows cannot be installed to this disk. this computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the diskโ€™s controller is enabled in the computerโ€™s BIOS menuโ€

I just need help installing Windows and Iโ€™m not sure why itโ€™s all screwy. I hope someone can help me because I am irritated with trying to figure out what to do. Thank you for everyone taking time to look and read!

First of all, Windows 10 requires UEFI boot mode to install. With UEFI, try to move the USB to first and the Hard drive to second and then try booting from the USB drive. Sometimes this motherboard will require moving the USB stick to a different slot before itโ€™ll recognize. Make sure the USB stick is USB 3.0 compliant because USB 2.0 requires Legacy mode which is probably why youโ€™re having issues.

Also make sure the BIOS is up to date. You donโ€™t need to have an OS installed as you can put an updated BIOS file on the USB drive and flash it directly from within the BIOS

When I put the Boot Mode to UEFI, none of my parts are showing, USB stick or Hard drive for the names. See:

          But for legacy there are:

Your USB Key UEFI is your USB drive

What brand and model of USB stick do you have just by chance? Also what model of WD is the hard drive?
