Sorry for the late entry. Facebook is heavily laden with scripts. Your buffering problem, as described above (IE seems fine), is consistent with problems associated with Facebook scripting issues. Some issues with Facebook can only be resolved by submitting a trouble ticket to Facebook - no amount of tweaking/cleaning on your PC will resolve most Facebook script issues. With Chrome, there are two exceptions. Launch Chrome in incognito mode OR launch Chrome with all extensions disabled.
If the buffering problem continues in Chrome under either or both adjusted startup conditions, and continues to perform well in IE, submit a report to Facebook.
Facebook personnel are not likely to interact with you. The problem will just go away.
If the buffering problem corrects itself under either adjusted startup condition, please report here.
