    MBR to GPT

Hi Guys, Hope you can give this old timer a couple of bits of advice, please. I have a copy of Linux Zorin on my pc. I also have on my partitioned TB a copy of windows 10. When I try to install win10 on my ssd card it is telling me I have to change the mbr to gpt. At the moment it is not booting into the windows system, only the linux. I am using a i7 processor.16 gig of Ram. Thank you in advance if you can help.

    Hello

    See if this helps.

Learn how to convert a disk to GPT or MBR partition scheme (style) using Disk Management and the command line in Windows.

Hi Guys, I decided to try another way and thought I would let you know the results. I took the SSD boot out and installed Windows on my TB drive. It went on ok and booted up fine. It still has MBR . Although I believe GPT is better for my win 10 , I think I will leave it alone until I back up all the important files on the partition. What do you think. But nevertheless thank you so much for any advice you gave me. It was appreciated.

Good article here on GPT vs MBR - MBR vs GPT: What's the Difference and Which One Should You Use?
But in short, if you ever want Win11, or just have a new’ish PC, GPT is the way to go.

            Will close as solved.
