I installed linux Mint and now I can't use windows 10

I thought I would not care but I am not liking linux at all, I installed it under “another way” or what ever it was (the bottom choice). When I try to use windows 10 it just wont work now. I dont really care about my data, I just want either windows 10 back or for linux to work for me.

The problems I have with linux are:
I can’t download/install anything. I tried to install ProtonVPN but it’s not working, it makes my type a bunch of things in terminal and it still does not work. Then I tried to download TOR, and that doesn’t work either. Is there anything I can do to reverse what I did today? I am on an HP. I never used Linux before so I am confused AF.

Others may have more questions and comments…

Linux does require a learning curve and some times a lot of terminal entering

Which Version of Linux Mint, Desktop Environment, and is it 32/64 bit.

Lets start with how are you downloading and installing

Have you tried using the Software Manager

Hi @WindowsRIP and welcome to PCHF

If you installed Linux, it most likely overwrote Windows 10. When you reboot the computer, do you get a popup that asks which OS you would like to boot from?

@WindowsRIP please no need to quote previous posts, to reply post message in blank posting box and click

You will as above have overwritten Windows, Go here and download a copy

https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/soft...load/windows10

extract and burn the iso to a flash drive, then boot to it and install it.

Yes, it’s called a system backup or image, and if you made one then no problems, if not you should always make one in the future before ANY system changes.

it faills everytime I try to download, then a low disk space thing pops up. But i actually would be fine if i could get linux instlled properly.

ALso, everytime I try to fully install linux mint it still makes me run it off my usb drive. I chose all of the install option and none of them will install it on my PC.

This is what I get when I restart my PC (if this helps)

GRU Grub Version 2.02
Start linux mint 19.2 cinnamon 64-bit
Start linux mint 19.2 cinnamon 64-bit (compatibility mode)
OEM install
Check the integritity of the medium

Nothing changes when I install linux with all the option

So what happens if you select “Start linux mint 19.2 cinnamon 64-bit”?

If you can run Linux live from a USB you should be able to start an install by clicking Install on the desktop

After you have completed the instructions that Gus has stated and shut down the computer remove the usb drive and reboot the turn the computer on.

Which will then take you to the Linux Desktop.

What does the system do if the USB drive is not installed?
