Windows or Linux, Which Shall I Stay w/. Please Help Me.

I can’t seem to decide which to keep my PC on, Windows or Linux. I know Linux is more Secure then Windows but Windows has more compatibility & there’s remote support for Windows too. It doesn’t seem like there’s any remote support for Linux @ all although there’s Linux Forums around though. Plus you guys are more experts on Windows then Linux so I lose most of your guys support.
Also there is a big Ram use difference, Linux runs better and faster then Windows.

I just don’t know which to keep my PC on. Please help me make a final choice please.

Dual boot and have both.

No one except you can decide what OS to use, make a decision, or dual boot.

every year or so I jump back on the Linux bandwagon and each time, even though it gets better and better, it simply (for me at least) still is not a replacement for Windows.

An OS that still requires you to install drivers and packages via the command line seems very old fashioned.
And driver support has been improved drastically - but it’s still not at the same level as Windows.
But for me, the kicker is always Excel. I’m a power user and the equivalents on Linux are no match.
the best distro I have used was Elementary OS but that’s going backa couple of years now, still got it on one of my rigs which I fire up occasionally to update it.

and you can also setup a Virtual Machine and have both.

yeah, you really want feedback from people who have tried both.
no good going to a Linux forum site, you’ll just get fan boys, and same as Windows forums, just true believers.
hopefully you’ll find an unbiased forum or review site that is not skewed either way.
but with pc users being a passionate lot - good luck with that.

The biggest question is what are you planning on doing and wanting to run on the system. Most programs that are made for Windows there usually comparable programs out there.

There are several programs out that are Linux for Remote access. Why any one would allow some one to remote access to their system is beyond me that is a different security risk all together.

This would depend on which Desktop Environment you use. There are some that are memory hogs just like Windows. There are some Linux Distros that require certain CPU and RAM.

Some would beg to differ. Just like with any operating system it can be hacked and infected. There are virus, malware and ransomware that are specifically being written for Linux.

The other thing that you need to look at is Linux in not combatable with all hardware.

Not all Terminal commands work in all Linux Distros.
