Maybe its a matter of companies not wanting to update their systems. I know some companies that still use Windows XP, because they paid to create a program that was compatible with it to accomplish some task and now do not want to pay again to have it updated. Other reasons could also be that they are using routers, switches, ASA that are years old, and I do not know how long companies like Cisco support the IOS on those devices.
