Ubuntu Linux is available in the Windows Store

After Microsoft announced that the next version of Windows will be a “Service” like Office 365, it now tries to connect itself with the biggest rival-Linux.
" Here’s a statement that would have been unimaginable in previous years: Ubuntu has arrived in the Windows Store. As promised back in May, you can now download a flavor of the popular Linux distribution to run inside Windows 10. It won’t compare to a conventional Ubuntu installation, as it’s sandboxed (it has limited interaction with Windows) and is focused on running command line utilities like bash or SSH…"

A feeble attempt to turn people away from Linux, or is that too cynical?

Did you just use “Microsoft” and “slack” in the one sentence?

          Oh Lord..

The positive thing is that some people who -still- view Linux as a " geeks only" thingy, may get bold enough to give it a go.

I do admit though that getting people to try Linux is a bit unusual -suspicious ?- coming from Microsoft.

Maybe some executive came up with the idea that letting users see Linux is more difficult to learn than Windows will be beneficial to MS.
