Got on my PC today, noticed a tab opened when I opened Chrome. It said that I needed to update chrome, and provided me a link. (Didn't take a screenshot, prob shouldve). Looked pretty sketchy so I googled it. Said that this is a scam that can be put onto unprotected but innocent programs to try and get you to download a virus. The last thing I'd want on my PC is a virus. As I just previously mentioned, the article I read mentioned that it used unprotected but innocent programs to advertise this message, and the tab's icon was the same icon as the Magic Actions for Youtube chrome app. Figured this could be what someone/thing used to send me this message. Anyone know what I can do to protect my PC against this?
Also, I haven't downloaded a single thing on my PC for atleast a week, with the exception of dragging an image from google images to my desktop.
Here's an image of the icon that the tab used:
Thanks
