  • Hello everyone We want to personally apologize to everyone for the downtime that we've experienced. We are working to get everything back up as quickly as possible. Due to the issues we've had, your password will need to be reset. Please click the button that says "Forgot Your Password" and change it. We are working to have things back to normal. Emails are fixed and should now send properly. Thank you all for your patience. Thanks, PCHF Management

Hi all I have a major problem r problem I have a coda spirit laptop been working fab until a few days ago then next day I go to turn it on and I can't log on, my password which I'm typing in is wrong apparently every time even tho I know it's not so I manage to get I to command prompt to try a few things and the keyboard is suddenly mixed up.

Help have I got a virus from somewhere or is is simply a software issue.

Do you have another device on which you can try logging into your Microsoft account?
Have you restarted several times to ensure it isn’t a temporary problem.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by messed up with the keyboard?

Hi I can access my emails on my phone but still can't log in on laptop, what I meant by keyboard was the keys were mixed up and when I've checked it's been set to us language, I've done literally every option in the recovery page, tried to reset it several times and nothing it comes up saying an error occurred

If possible try logging into your Microsoft account on your phone here:
https://account.microsoft.com/account If successful then there’s a problem with the account on the PC, if you still receive the password error then someone may have accessed the account & changed the password.
Is the keyboard UK or US? Is the £ on the 3 key & @ on the 2 key? If yes then it is a US layout keyboard. Also the BIOS may be set to US as default.

I'm able to log into account ok, I found that the keyboard had somehow been changed to us, I've changed it back to UK now and still no luck, have I been hacked or is it a virus, malware or simply a software issue

It could be one or more of those. Most likely a keyboard fault.
Have you tried the onscreen keyboard to enter the password?
Ensure Caps lock & Number Lock aren’t on.
Have you also added a PIN? Perhaps it is asking for this instead of a password.

Tries all of that still locked out if I can access my account ok should I change my password as I have Xbox count on there too with subscription etc just incase the laptops been accessed

Yes you can change your password or just turn on 2 factor authentication by adding a recovery email address, mobile phone number or use an authenticator app in order to receive log in codes. Remember to save your emergency recovery codes if you do turn on 2fa & to ensure the app is set to be backed up by the phone.
If anyone does have the log in details then they’ll still not be able to access your account due to the 2fa.

Sorry but not sure why this thread has been allowed to continue because as previously advised (reply #3) offering assistance breaches the PCHF Terms and rules that we all agreed to abide by when becoming a member including no assistance will be offered regarding bypassing passwords.

13. We will not assist with recovery of or figuring out of system passwords, PINs, or 2FA codes for any reason.

While we will not help you with getting around passwords we can advise you as to how you can have this resolved using legitimate means, take the computer to a reputable tech local to you or have them come to you, you will need proof of ownership such as the sales invoice, picture ID such as a driving licence/passport and proof of your address such as a recent utility bill.

Thread closed as per the above explanation.
