I was having problems with my computer freezing so I decided to format the hard drive and start with a clean slate. All I did was install the graphics drivers but it still freezes. Can someone give me some suggestions of what to try please as I am all out of ideas.

Thanks,
Dave

I appear to have fixed the problem, just needed to install all the drivers for everything. Initially, I was trying to replicate the problem with nothing installed so I could test what was making the computer freeze.

Thanks anyway for replying

good to see your perseverance paid off David.
although, with no additional drivers Windows still shouldn't freeze.
the lack of drivers just means something wouldn't have looked as good as it should or even be detected.

time will tell.

we'll close this as solved for now - if something else pops up, let us know.
