Hi new here , hope this is in correct forum.
I have a TP link on my PC, from Virgin hub 2 rooms away (constantly flashing green.) When I lose connection to the internet via Ethernet through a loose connection maybe, should the WI-FI automatically become active, ie; restore access? It doesn't.
Am I missing something simple?
Thanks

Ethernet through a loose connection
Why is the connection loose?

Yes and No more no than yes

The Wi-Fi would have to be connect and even if it was the signal was going through one or the other. When it switches it may consider it as a new connections and loose its place and have to start over.

Bigger question is if the source is 2 rooms away why not just use the Wi-Fi?

Thanks for prompt reply!
I sometimes loosen the Ethernet connection by accident and thought the wifi should "take over" If I were to disconnect the ethernet do I have to "tell" the PC to switch?

Thanks,
I disconnected the Ethernet cable and Wi fi is connected and working so I now have a back up,
But don't know what's changed!
