I have just pre-ordered an i9 11900K.

I want to make sure I get a motherboard that will have enough PCIe slots and at the right speeds. The board also needs to have at least 8 USB ports. 4 of those USB ports need to be USB 3.

Can somebody please recommend an Asus or Gigabyte Z590 motherboard for about £300 ($415) - £400 ($556).

This is going to be my build.

CPU - i9-11900K

Sound card – Asus Essence STX II 7.1 (this sound card has a motherboard and daughterboard and needs 2 PCIe slots)

Graphics card - RTX 3080

SSD - PCIe 4.0 NVMe - WD Black SN850 2TB M.2

Memory - Crucial Ballistix MAX 2 x 16GB 4000MHz.

doesn't get much better with 8 USB3. PCIe 4.0 ready. I might not buy a sound card . Good sound onboard already (7.1). Buy a great PSU for that beast. You will need Water Block cooling for that cpu. Runs hot

hope you have more than one storage, maybe a few SSD's for backup
You will like the RTX3080. I have one and I'm impressed somewhat. Runs hot also, hope you bought the 3 fan cooling on it.

Dear Santa I have been good. May I have this motherboard for Christmas.

I can't see you going wrong with this motherboard.
Make sure you use a quality power supply 80+ gold I think
