Hi.

Not sure where to post this, as it really seems like a software issue.

So, I want to play my computer-games on my TV. I therefore bought a 5 meter (about 15 feet) HDMI-cable. Connected it to my computer and tv, no picture/signal. Nothing.
Tried connecting the cable from my computer to my pc-monitor.. no picture/signal, nothing. Tried connecting the cable from my nintendo switch to my TV - worked like a charm. Bought another cable (also 5 meters), same problem problem with this one as well.

I am using my computer on a daily basis, with a HDMI-cable. This is a shorter cable. Not sure about the other specs on it.. Could be version 1.4. The two 5 meter cables I bought, at least one of them is version 2.0. Cant find any info on the other one.

Attaching info about the computer. Running latest drivers. Tried reinstalling AMD adrenalin software.

Computer monitor is HP X24ih and TV is Philips 65PUS8505/12

have you tried the shorter cable you currently use on your PC to the monitor and use that to connect to the TV?

I have not tried that yet, as the tv is around 5 meters away from the computer and both are "fixed" with cable management etc.

I can try it - but would assume it is working, as the shorter cable is working from pc to monitor.

Ok supposedly only a 3 meter hdmi cable can be used on a 4k tv.

EDIT: is this cable a 2.1 ?

What about my monitor, then? It's full-HD, and the 5 meter cables are not working :/
And what about the Nintendo switch.. Both cables are working when I connect the switch to the TV. So that cant be the problem?

Ok according to my research the 2.1 is better at less signal degradation at longer lengths.

I have no clue how, but its working now. Didnt really do anything, as far as I know...
