Hello all,
I am designing a small network for my Church and need to segment the network for the different departments. I have a Cisco switch which is capable of being configured for VLANS, my question is if I set up the network so that each department (Media computers, Office, Guest Wifi etc.) is on a seperate VLAN will that provide adequate isolation of devices so that windows file shares etc. won't be visible for machines on different VLANS?
Also, do I set different IP ranges for each VLAN and and assign static IP addresses to machines? or should I use DHCP?
Hope this makes sense, any help and input will be much appreciated.
