Hi Guys,

I bought something from amazon and after checking out Amazon asked me if I wanted to install Amazon Assistant for Opera. I found this to be weird, so I went to https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/ to check see the browser I was using and lo and behold it told me that I am using Opera when in fact I am using chrome. Is this a virus or something?

Hi there @ManishMan

It could be a misconfigured User Agent. Let's try something to see if it fixes it.

Download ResetBrowser to your desktop.

Now close all open browsers. All browsers MUST be closed during this operation!

Right click and Run as Administrator

Click on Reset Chrome-- Allow completion.
Click on Reset Firefox-- Allow completion.
Click on Reset Internet Explorer-- Allow completion.

Now reboot your machine.

Then visit https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/ and take a screenshot or copy and paste the URL so we can get more information :)

It's not a trojan I assure you :) What Anti-Virus are you using? I would advise disabling it while we work on this issue as it can and will cause problems.

Also do the following for me too please:

Please download MiniToolBox and save it to your desktop. Run the program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator. When the program opens select the following boxes:

Flush DNS
Report IE Proxy Settings
Reset IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
Reset FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP Configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List Devices (Only Problems)

Please post the log in your next reply :)

The Anti virus I'm using is 360 total security as was recommended by someone on this forum some months back I believe

I'm glad it fixed your issue :) Usually a corrupt User Agent is the culprit and ResetBrowser almost always fixes it :)

Are there any further issues you're experiencing? :)

Yes, there is something else I would really like your help on not sure if this would be the correct thread to post it on but here goes.

I have 2 ips monitors set up to run on one cpu, the main one is plugged into the DVI port whilst the other is plugged into a vga port. What happens is sometimes the second monitor just blows out the colors and make it looks whiteish. I used to had use the NVIDIA control panel to adjust this and it would work but NVIDIA controls in the system tray doesn't appear any longer.

Is there a way for me to get the monitor running properly permanently?

Thanks in advance for your help

We would need to create a separate thread for that :)

Since this issue is resolved, I'm going to mark it as so and close it. Please create a new thread for the new issue and we'll get it worked out for you :)
