I now got Linux Mint installed. I once had Windows 10. I used to look at Family pictures i saved on my USB. How can see these on Linux Mint? Linux newbie here. Thanks Chuck

Hi Chuck, Linux Mint has a couple of built in picture viewers, try this.

From the main menu
Choose Graphics on the left hand tree and then "Image Viewer" from the right.
Once it has opened, Click "Image" menu and then "Open"
Navigate to your USB drive or wherever your pics are.
Select your pic by double clicking on it.
you can maximise the image viewer app window the same as Windows if you want.
Use your mouse scroll key to size your picture.
And use previous or next from the main menu to show the rest of your pics.

There is another inbuilt app called Pix, and there are zillions of other viewers you can install for Linux.

This screenshot from Mint 18 is Image Viewer and the pic is on a USB flash drive.

Have you mounted the USB stick?
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=242490

Your image shows that the internal storage has nothing in pictures. It would not since they are on a USB stick.

Iam not sure how to mount or unmount a USB. I went to Linux Forums and still didnt understand. Dont get me wrong i think Linux Mint Cinnamon is awesome so if i can learn more that would be great. I just need to learn the terminal and USB things better.

plodr is psensor fairly good on showing laptop temperatures? I have psensor on here now, i was just wondering. Linux Newbie Thank,s Chuck

Hi Chuck, the usb does not have to be mounted to use it. Click the COMP... item on the left menu and navigate to your usb drive from there. Your pictures will not show on the Pictures item you have highlighted in your screenshot unless you physically copy them from your USB to that folder.

Note, if you hover your mouse over the vertical line section between the "places" and "name" boxes you will see a double ended arrow, you can now drag the line to the right and see more of the left hand "places" tree. When you do this you will see the item now shown as Comp... will actually be Computer.
