Solved USB needs formatting (on XP)?

Hello, i'm not sure if I'm in the right place, but let's see.

I have twice (on different PCs) copied from PC to USB memory stick, but when I go to view it tells me file invalid and that it needs formatting. Although copying/transferring appeared to work at the time there's no sign of any data.

Any ideas, please?

It's been a while on XP for me so here's a possible fix.

It's probably using exFAT, which is not supported in XP. Format the drive as NTFS and you'll be OK

Before you format it to the NTFS I would pull all the data off the drive and store it on one of the other systems you stated in post # 1.
