Have been having a stupid problem with updates. There are 2 updates on my PC,given as latest updates. If I let them download they ruin the smooth runnig of my PC,I get black screens, blue screens, and constant freezes.Remove them and stop them from downloading and PC is perfectly stable?
I have done everthing I can think of to prevent them downloading, changed all settings so that I can choose to update or not, have also removed them from selection list, but at every shut down up comes the message :Updates 1of 2 installing please do not turn Pc off.
Without going through an internal investigation of system,as Im happy with PC as is,is there any way I can permantly remove them from my system, without them "magically" reappearing? Updates shown below.

Hello Caskins

Go into your control panel, once there click on your admin tools. Then go to component services and or local services. From there scroll down until you find windows update, click on that and decide how you want your updates done.

Hi Thanks for getting back so quickly. What you have advised is exactly what I have done, even down to going to update list and deselecting them, but still they find there way through?

Right click and select hide this update.
You will see it again because MS has released this at least 20 times, starting in about June of 2014. (You can tell it is old because of the beginning number 295)
Here's an article from 2017 about that update

How underhanded is that, many thanks for your intervention and cure, had it not been for yourself and the Forum, that is something I would never have known about, although I must admit I was curious to know what had happened to the Win10 update that they kept forcing down ones throat!!! Cheers and many thanks

Any updates for us?
Apologies, thought I had made in reply to plodr, but YES all solved, updates now shut down.Had no idea it was the old Win 10 routine being played from a different angle!!
