When connecting the laptop with the TV, the laptop screen flickers shortly and the sound that comes when a new device is added is to be heard. However, the TV claims that there is no connection. Over the past 3 days, I have tried this every day and on the first two days it at some point suddenly worked, and once the connection was there it was stable. I am assuming that some software or settings are preventing the connection for some reason, but I cannot think of what might be causing it. Are there any suggestions as to what I might be able to try? Every attempt I have made sure that the source input was correct.

Solutions I have already tried
  • Turning the Laptop and TV off and on again numerous times
  • Turning the Laptop and TV off and on together whilst connected/not connected to each other
  • Tried a different port
  • Tried a different Cable
  • Tried connecting my laptop to a monitor with HDMI (this works)
  • Tried connecting other devices to the TV (this works)
  • Updating the drivers on my laptop

Many thanks in advance to any and all new suggestions. I am happy to provide any information you might need

get Speccy from here; https://www.piriform.com/speccy/builds

in Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
now you can paste (Ctrl+V) that link into a post.

that will give us the laptops graphics specs.
what make/model is the TV?
have you checked for software updates or firmware upgrades for the TV?
