I've been trying to replace my hdd with an ssd on my Toshiba Satellite.

The bios seems be locked, in that I can access it but it only seems to want to use my specific hdd and wont recognise any other when it is attached.

I have created a windows 10 boot usb and was going to do a clean install but I can't seem to get it to A) boot from the usb annd B) recognise the ssd in bios.

Has anyone done this? I'm sure it's possible. My hdd is on it's last legs and I'd love to speed the system up with an ssd

Thanks

What model is this model and model number is this laptop? You may need to turn off (disable) Secure Boot

I can't get it to boot from usb at all, even with my original (working) hdd in. Windows installation usb drive seems to be have been made correctly and usb is set as first boot device in the bios
