So as some of you may know, I am working on replacing the hard drive on my Inspiron 8000. It has a 20gb 4200rpm IBM Travelstar IDE hard drive, and I was thinking of this 80gb 5400rpm HGST (Hitachi) Travelstar IDE hard drive or the 40gb version of it. What are your thoughts? Are there any better suggestions?

--Update--
I found this Fujitsu refurbished IDE (30gb, 5400rpm) HDD on eBay for a great price... does it look legit?

--Update 2--
MORE!!!
Fujitsu new IDE (60gb, 5400rpm) HDD
WD new IDE 120gb, 5400rpm) HDD
Feeling strongly about that WD...

Hello

I would stay away from the refurb HDD.. If WD HDD's is what you want go with the Black..

The reason i said the black WD is because the blue's have a bad rep right now.. I have owned several Hitachci hdd's in the past, never had an issue with them. Never used a Fujitsu hdd before.

Well, I still don't know which one to get. I know nothing about hard drives unless they're WD, Seagate, or Samsung.

I like WD Blacks. Good spindle speed of 7200RPM, and 5 yr Warranty, and found them very reliable.
I have tried most brands over the years.:)

WD Black is my go-to aswell, but I need an IDE hard drive for my old laptop.
Just found this, seems pretty legit, right?
