Hey,
A few hours ago I turned on my pc, tried to start a gameon steam and during its loading my pc crashed showing for the first time ever a blue screen of death with the code:"SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION". I've attached the associated memory dump and the following is my speccy url http://speccy.piriform.com/results/XbJ3xynhAYlOthZd8wBVNGK
I think I should mention that in the past this laptop has sometimes been freezing, with everything blocked but the cursor, and I couldn't do anything other than shutting the computer down via the power button, although it never showed a blue screen; once rebooted, it worked fine. The weird thing is that this problem would usually either happen within the first ~10 minutes or it wouldn't happen at all. I don't know if it's related, but this bsod has happened within the first minutes of the computer being turned on as well.
I don't know what could have caused this and I have no idea how to read memory dumps, and I was wondering if you could help me. Thank you all kindly, best regards.

A few things you can try:

First being your power plan, it's set at HP Optimized right now, you can try changing it to balanced and see if that makes a difference.

Second of which, attempt whatever you do that causes the system to slow down while task manager is open, watch the utilization of your CPU and RAM in particular as these filling up could cause the system to come to a grinding halt.

Open an admin level command prompt and type in the command sfc /scannow. This will check for corrupted system files, not a bad idea after a BSOD. (Keep in mind that running sfc will take a few minutes, there is a blurb that details the progress, do not close command prompt or stop it before it has finished)

Code:
Dump: 040422-14687-01.dmp (04.04.2022 12:39:42)
Code: 0x3B - SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
Process: eu4.exe, probably caused by: memory_corruption
Third-party modules in the stack: amdkmdag.sys
FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: MEMORY_CORRUPTION_LARGE

Step 1:
Please download MINITOOLBOX and run it.
Checkmark following boxes:
Flush DNS
Reset FF proxy Settings
Reset Ie Proxy Settings
Report IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer log
List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size
List Devices (problems only)
Click Go and Attach the log in your reply.

Step 2 Autoruns Scan.
Download Autoruns and Autorunsc Unzip it to your desktop and then double click autoruns.exe
After the scan is finished then click on File>>>>>>>>>>>Save
The default name will be autoruns.arn make sure to save it as Autoruns.arn under the file type option.
Attach the text in your next reply. If the file is too large, then use catbox.moe or filedropper.com and send the link in your next reply.

A basic general rule with a laptop, if you are going to game with a laptop, get yourself a cooling pad. At least elevate the computer on both edges with a book, so that the fan(s) have a clear path to cool air. If you have never cleaned the fan, then I'd suggest you do so....

I have done everything you suggested but the tests, i will do them after i have backed up the computer.

i have attached the logs you have asked for, but for some reasons the links you have sent me didn't work, so i have downloaded them from here and here; the autoruns file was too large, so i zipped it, I hope it's not a problem.
What does the text you have put in the code format mean?

By the way, today i opened chrome a few minutes after i turned the pc on, and everything froze so i shut it down via the power button (no bsod showed), so (assuming the two things are correlated) I don't think it's the game's fault; as a matter of fact when the bsod appeared the game was still loading, usually after the first 10 minutes i can play without any problems.

Thank you all once again, best regards.

The first thing that we will do is download Junkware Removal Tool by Malwarebytes. Save it to your desktop run as admin, this is an outdated crapware removal tool, it will remove some junk but most important, this will create a restore point. I do not need to see the log from this, if you want to go back to before any of these steps you will have a restore point created....

After a quick look, you could stand to free up some space.

You can use Treesize to find files on your machine that you may wish to delete.

  • First download and save the portable version of Privazer to your desktop.
  • Go through the options a set Privazer to your needs, select basic or advanced user.
  • When you are done setting Privazer to your needs, then click on start cleaning then scan.
  • This scan can take a while to complete, so it is best that you do it when you have some free time.

You can use the Everything Search Engine to find and remove files from your machine.

  • Searching forfile extensions in Everything Search, to help you along the way is easy.
  • You can simply type .mp3 to find all of your music, or .mp4 to find your videos.
  • You can open the file from the tools gui by double clicking it, and then decide if it needs to go.

Using Master Seeker To Find Large Files Over 1 Gigabyte.

  • Download Master Seeker to your desktop, right click it and run as administrator to start the application.
  • To search for files that are a certain size, you can use the search terms in the picture below.
  • By using this method you can find and delete files of a certain size, like 500mb or 1gb.

IQOY3Y3.png

  • Say you want to find all files 1gb or larger, you type 1gb into the search window of Master Seeker.
  • This will list all files on your machine that are 1gb give or take a few mb.
  • Then you simply right click and delete if you feel the file needs to go.
  • You can search for files of 2gb size, or 300 mb, obviously you want to seek out the larger files with this tool.

Everything looks ok from the logs, let me know how things are going. If the issue does not arise after gaming I'd say its most likely solved....

After following your advice and testing the pc (running some games) the problems I had did't happen anymore, I really want to thank you for following and helping me patiently. I was worried about having to change pc or having to contact support, but thanks to you there was no need for that. Therefore this thread can be closed. Wish you the very best.
