I recently installed a R9 280x graphics card, only to realise that after it's installation, the audio no longer worked, replaced by static

I have tried updating my realtek drivers and making sure that my onboard audio is set to default. I've searched around for ages and found no solutions to this particular problem. My only possible theory is that the new graphics card required more power from my 550W PSU and somehow fried the soundcard? But I honestly have no clue.

Here are pictures of my Playback devices as listed (Strange AMD ones appearing as unplugged??)

When a video on my computer is played the green bar moves up and down (implying that the sound is being registered), but still no audio to be heard, only static.

If anyone has an idea of how to fix this issue it would be much appreciated.

After more trial I think the soundcard might just be dead unfortunately :\

Since audio isn't my priority I think im gonna go out and buy a cheap new audio card. Thankyou for the reply! Hopefully this ends up working

Unfortunately the audio card is inbuilt into the mother board so I can't really try it. Also no issues in device manager.

I may have realised a common thread that points to it being broken. A part on my motherboard that controls the front USB 3 is very close to the part with the audio, and ever since the audio stopped working so did the USB 3's on the front of my computer. Perhaps that area of the motherboard was damaged somehow?

Oh right yeah sorry my bad haha, for some reason read audio card. Unfortunately no audio returns when the new video card is removed, most likely right about the hardware issue
