I bought OEM Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger Micro USB 2.0 Cable 1 Wall Charger + 5 FT USB

I started charging my phone at 48% battery life, expecting to see 98% or 100% in 30 minutes. After 1 hour, it only charged to 64%. So I shut the phone off & charged, thinking that might make a difference. That only charged from 64% to 74% in 30 minutes. Does it actually have to start charging at 0%, to see the 50% "fast charge" in 30 minutes?

Yes. It quick charges from 0% to 50% in 30 minutes then trickle charges the last 50%..

plodr, thank you. Wish Samsung would've specifically explained that. I believe I bought a counterfeit from ebay but returned it. Charged only 12% in 30 minutes. And that's starting from 0% battery life. Now that I know, I don't need it, as I never let my phone drop down to 0% battery. Even then my regular charger is fast enough.
