My screen stopped working so i gave it to the repair shop, now im asking should i yank off the whole battery connector and try to use the laptop only with a cable cuz this abomination scares me, how they massacared my boy, i have no words, they broke the bezel aroud the screen, removed multiple covers off of cables, destroyed the battery connector and when they were screwing back in the mb for some reason they almost went through my keyboard, they even tried to blame my dad that he said sum was wrong with the battery, dont know why they still changed the screen, honestly made alot more damage than good.

that all looks like a compete balls-up!
name and shame them on social media - just be sure to get your facts right and have proof to backup your claims.

first up - I'd be asking them to fix it all up.
hope you haven't handed over any money!

but yes - remove the battery and just run it off mains but check what you are about to do won't effect what you want them to look at first.

Laptop works fine via powerline, the battery is registering as full so power shouldnt even go through it, they didnt want money bcs they knew what they did(dad wanted to pay with card which would mean he paid for a service), a new mb costs alot more than a screen, theyre just lucky i wasnt the one talking with them, thats for reply ill consult another repair shop if this is saveable

great that you hadn't paid.
don't go back, no good rewarding them with more work when they already have bad history.
If id have paid id have a receipt, which would fly better in court, still have photos but 0 energy for it, too bad ill have to finish this semester without it

Im just really dissapointed, this is the 2nd time something like this happened, 1st was with my pc, its sad how little repair shops know or CARE, even warranty is just on paper and based on luck these days for any electronics and accessories except phones, i hope others dont have to deal with this, thats why after college i was thinking of opening up a repair shop myself and taking less customers and focus more on precisely done job, a quality one and with care and understaning of the customer
great that you hadn't paid.
don't go back, no good rewarding them with more work when they already have bad history

sounds like a solid plan.
we'll close this for now since we won't be of any help getting the laptop fixed.

if things change and you want to re-open the thread, PM any staff member with the request.

good luck. :)

a closing point from the OP....
maybe the only thing id add to the thread is that if anyone is in the same position they can go to market inspectorate and file a complaint as consumer have their rights, and repair companies are under law to fix their mistakes

in Australia, we are protected by the ACL (Australian Consumer Law).
excerpt covering businesses that sell a product or a service is attached.
