Sorry to make another forum due to my late response to another. I need a bit of help with removing a couple of things from my HP Pavilion 15-P107TX so that I can take the rest of it apart without a problem.
Around the top left inside of my laptop, a loud jammed constant noise as well as vibration over the base and keyboard keeps coming suddenly. At first it used to happen when ever I woke up the machine after sleeping or being out all day. I read a forum and I heard people saying that it goes on for a minute. I put the laptop on sleep and woke it up repeatedly for 3-4 times. Now it sometimes takes 5 times to stop the malfunction from happening. Then was the first time that I let it malfunction for almost a minute until it reduced back into a smooth clear blowing sound, but after doing that a few times, now it happens again and again while it is already turned on instead of once a day.
I really need to clean it out as it is a second-hand laptop and I have not cleaned it once. I was given advice to not use a vacuum, but to use room-temperature compressed air in short bursts. I was also given a link to a site with some videos that didn't really seem like what I was looking for, but there was a tab with a manual where I figured out how to take everything apart for what I'm trying to deal with: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04427554
I tried taking the base enclosure off a few times, though I didn't have any tools besides a knife to get it off. I felt very uncomfortable using it, as well as taking off the base enclosure as there is a lot of loud snapping sounds, force and tightness involved. I'm uncertain if using excessive force will snap something or detach it from the clamps which is what I'm trying to do. One time I believe I got all but a clamp or two detached, which were over the optical drive. What really worried me about using excessive force was that it was bending the side of the laptop and making some marks.. Since the base enclosure was so tight that I would most likely snap something else trying to get it off, I feel stuck.
I'm going to try to take out the optical drive tomorrow. If I take out the middle screw on the bottom of the laptop, would it come out without anything holding it inside the machine? Would it allow me to take off the base enclosure with ease? I appreciate any support to keep my computer safe from any accidents.
