I bought and installed all new components to a large tower case with 700w psu. No display and on boot it flashes red light CPU for a second and then switches to a solid red Dram light. All components picked were from PC part picker I used to build my last rig and they said were comparable. Help I'm lost and some serious $$$ in!

it might be as simple as your mobo only supports 1st and 2nd gen AMD's and you have a 3rd gen.
now the problem is how to upgrade the BIOS on that mobo if you got all the parts online.

Hi Wolfganguntoten, any update on your issue?

As Bruce said, your issue is you bought a B450 motherboard and a third generation Ryzen CPU and that CPU will not work unless you get the motherboard's BIOS flashed to the latest version to support the Ryzen 3000 CPU. Without updating the BIOS, that motherboard will not boot with that Ryzen CPU installed.

Do you have a computer tech shop that can flash that BIOS for you in order to update it?
