Hello,

I recently built a PC less than two weeks ago and it has been crashing everyday when gaming or running a power stress test with OCCT. There is no BSOD message showing when a crash happens, the monitor will flicker for 5 seconds or so and then the PC will restart.

When looking at the event viewer I usually get these error and critical error messages when the PC crashes.
  1. The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
  2. The previous system shutdown at 2:51:01 PM on ‎2021-‎06-‎27 was unexpected.
  3. A fatal hardware error has occurred. Reported by component: Processor Core. Error Source: Machine Check Exception. Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error. Processor APIC ID: 2. The details view of this entry contains further information.
Below are some troubleshooting things that I have done.
  • I have ran stress tests with OCCT on CPU, linpack, memory, 3D, VRAM, and power. All run fine after a test of 30 minutes, except power. Power test will shutdown and restart the PC at 1 to 2 minutes, sometimes it will not crash at all. But it is the only test that has crashed my PC fairly consistently.
  • I have swapped out the power supply and it still crashes.
  • I have reset the PC and have had a fresh install of Windows 10 multiple times.
  • I have moved the GPU down a slot to give the CPU and CPU cooler more space for cooling and airflow.
  • I have reset the BIOS multiple times.
  • I have turned off automatically restart upon system failure to view if there is a BSOD message, but there is no message and the monitor will flicker until I manually hold down the power to reboot it.
  • I have removed the CMOS battery for 10 minutes before putting it back in multiple times.
Below are the specs.
  • OS: Windows 10 Home
  • OS Version: 10.0.19043
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor
  • CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock 4
  • RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4 3600 Mhz DIMM
  • GPU: Radeon RX 570 4 GB
  • PSU: Corsair RM 750 80+ Gold Fully Modular
  • Storage: Western Digital Blue SN550 NVME 1 TB
  • Fans: 2x be quiet! Silent Wings 2 140mm
  • Case: NZXT 510 (x2 stock fans)
  • BIOS: F32
Any help, suggestions, or guidance of what to do would be much appreciated, thank you!
