I'm trying to install some new graphic drivers on my laptop (msi GX 70 destroyer) but they won't install.
I'm trying to install new graphic drivers for my AMD radeon 290x graphics card (my windows and all other drivers are up to date). The installation proces goes completely fine and at the end it says: Installation succesful. But then I restart my computer and still get the message that I have no graphic drivers installed. I removed old drivers and I don't get what the problem is, can somebody please help me with this issue?

Hi,

Its possible that your laptop does not support drivers from AMD's website and only the ones provided by MSI for the laptop.

You downloaded the latest drivers from AMD's website correct and double checked to make sure they were compatible with your hardware?

Did you make sure you uninstalled all old AMD drivers, reboot your system and then install the new ones?

What version of Windows do you have installed?

I don't know if my laptop supports the drivers from the site, I don't know where I can see this.

I downloaded the correct drivers and double-double checked and they we're compatible.

I uninstalled all my drivers of my laptop then I downloaded new ones for my system via the setting menu exepet the gpu ones.

I cannot reach my computer now but I downloaded a new update a few hours ago, I think I have the newest version.

Thank you for replying, I cannot find any useful tutorials, I can see that multiple people have this problem but I cannot find an solution anywhere.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Power Profile
Active power scheme: Gebalanceerd
Change this to High Performance in the Windows Power Plan else your dedicated GPU will not get enough power and the notebook will revert to using the CPUs on die graphics solution.

Create a new folder on the desktop, name it AMD HD 8790M drivers.
Download and save to the folder the Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.1.3 drivers from here
Restart the computer in Safe Mode only (No Networking).
Install the new GPU drivers that you saved to the folder on your desktop.
Restart the computer, test then post back with an update for us.
