Hi I'm the very unhappy owner of a Lenovo ideapad 320-14IAP, my worst laptop ever (no Lenovo ever again!)
After 6 months or so i found out that i didnt get any signal through hdmi connection with my tv.
I also found out that some external hdd that were recognized on my old w7 were no longer
recognized on this w10 laptop and just overnight without doing anything wrong. In the Philippines
warranty is only 7 days or so i just lived with this problem.

After 2 years i had to change the keyboard and since the technician didnt find the appropriate
driver for the installed windows 10 version he changed it to Windows Enterprise 10

Now one year later i have problems again with the keyboard, some keys first worked sometimes then
again no more just like it had to warm up first and then later on no more like the t,y tab and backspace keys

Also my internal dvdwriter a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GP20N USB Device is no longer recognized
and i cant find the driver for anywhere it as i uninstalled it and it is hidden in device manager.
Theres also a dvd inside that i cant get out even not if i put a fine object through the small hole
to open it. Lenovo support is as good as inexistent.

Anyone can give me some advice what i can do to solve one or more of these problems.
Dont know if i have to blame w10 or Lenovo, i really think about getting my old w7 laptop
fixed instead of this one, since i didnt have this kind of problems at all before and
just live with the lack of security updates

Is it possible to downgrade this lenovo from w10 to w7 altogether without losing logins?
There was never any cd included when i bought this computer either

Changing the motherboard or keyboard of this Lenovo is out of the question since i better buy a cheap chinese
or secondhand laptop or fix my old w7 laptop then facing the same problem again in less than a year.

Thanks

In theory DVD/CD writers are plug & play so shouldn’t require drivers.
Try the suggestions here:

If this doesn’t work try this fix by Kapil Arya:

Try these steps:

1. Open the Command Prompt with administrative privileges.

2. Type the following command and hit Enter key:

reg.exe add “HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0” /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001

3. Exit the Command Prompt and reboot. Insert a disk to test and the optical or DVD drive should be visible now.

Sorry but never heard the likes of it in all my life, anyone that has told you that is talking complete garbage and by installing the Enterprise version of Windows 10 on your computer they have effectively given you an illegal OS.

You can download your own legitimate Windows 10 ISO for free from here use the second option to create a bootable USB thumbdrive.

Before you clean install Windows 10 you should manually download all the drivers that you need from here and save them to a separate USB thumbdrive, after clean installing Windows you must install the chipset drivers for the motherboard before doing anything else, if you don`t you will have problems.

You might want to use the Lenovo diagnostics tool at their link before you do anything else.

Can the Windows Enterprise w10 be the reason for the problems i am experiencing? I mean drivers that dont respond, faulty keyboard and stuff

actually im afraid that after reinstalling another version of windows the problems might get even worse and i have no idea where to find my genuine windows 10 key i had before

If the improper driver is installed. Yet what could be also causing the issue is a faulty install and or a hacked.
Just wondering why the needed to install keyboard driver unless it was for media and or lighted.
Did look at the driver list for that system and there is NO keyboard driver. I get the feeling they just padded the bill.

Will put this short and straight to the point then close this thread.

You have an illegal OS on your computer and that means that by helping you with the present install we would be breaking forum rules.

A means of you obtaining a legitimate OS has been provided for you.

A link to the Lenovo drivers has been provide for you.

There is a diagnostic tool at the Lenovo link for you to run.

If you still have issues with the DVD drive after installing a legitimate OS and the Lenovo drivers. start a thread on the hardware forums and not here, you will need to post a Speccy url so that we can check that a legitimate OS has been installed and that the OS is fully up to date.
