Recently while installing Linux mint I choose the option to encrypt the drive and when I switched to another os (Linux Mankato) I forgot to decrypt it, than I deleted Linux manjaro on which I couldn't decrypt the drive, and tried installing windows 10 where I wanted to decrypt the drive and make a partition for dual boot, but when I boot from a bootable USB stick I get an error no media drivers detected/found or something similar so I was wondering if I can decrypt the drive in cmd admin, which I can access in windows instalation or are there any other possible fixes?

The storage device is formatted as part of the installation process when you clean install Windows 10 so something else is amiss.

What is the brand and model name or number of the notebook.

From where was the Windows 10 media on the USB device obtained.

Have you purchased a Windows 10 product key.
 
I am using an Acer aspire 5 a515 52g, I created the bootable usb stick with media creation tool, on a laptop with a purchased versionn of windows 10

This model shipped with Windows 10 home pre installed + a Windows recovery partition, is the recovery partition still present.

As long as the "for use on another computer" option was selected when creating the media the ISO should be ok but it counts for nothing that the computer used to create the Windows media has a purchased version of Windows 10 on it, it is the computer where the Windows 10 clean install needs to be done that matters, if the computer did ship with Windows 10 Home on it the original product key will be stored on the BIOS chip and Microsoft database and when clean installing Windows 10 the Home version will be installed by default.
 
I bought the laptop with no operating system installed, I have installed windows 10 on it already it worked successfully with no error, but than removed it for Linux
 
If you have a working computer close to hand you can test your Windows 10 media using QEMU which you can download from here let us know if you can`t do this right away and we will suggest something else for you to do, it would help knowing that your Windows media is good though, the "no media drivers detected/found" message is weird in that it is not a message that you would expect to get when clean installing a modern version of Windows, such problems are associated with the likes of XP and not having any SATA drivers.
 
Do you think it's possible that I get that error because I didn't decrypt my drive before uninstalling the os?

Please do not respond to a question or a suggestion with another question when you have not done or replied to what has been asked/suggested, fwiw, no, as previously explained modern Windows formats the drive as part of the installation process.
 
No currently I can't test the USB bootable stick but it should be okay, i am probably gonna be able to test it tomorow so i will message you then, and an answer to rustys, when I booted windows 10 the first time i got the laptop i did it from efi shell, so I don't know but currently there is no partition just the drive
 
No worries about testing the ISO for now, was just hoping to try and rule it in or out as the cause, if you have access to the computer and your USB device see the canned info below for UEFI BIOS and disabling secure boot.

For computers that have UEFI as opposed to legacy BIOS, to be able to boot from your USB device you may need to disable secure boot and change UEFI to CSM Boot, not all computers and BIOS are the same, please refer to your user manual if you have one as the following steps are only one such example.

While the computer is re-starting,you will need to continually tap or hold down the particular key that will allow you to access the BIOS on your computer, we will use the F2 key as an example here;

After restarting the computer, when the screen goes black, press and hold down the F2 key, wait for the BIOS to load.

Select Security -> Secure Boot and then Disabled.

Select Advanced -> System Configuration and then Boot Mode.

Change UEFI Boot to CSM Boot.

Save the changes and Exit the BIOS, commonly F10.

Alternatively the method below may be required.

If your computer will not boot into Windows at all, power up or restart the computer continually tap or hold down the key that will allow you to access the BIOS on your computer and then do the following;

Select Security -> Secure Boot and then Disabled.

Select Advanced -> System Configuration and then Boot Mode.

Change UEFI Boot to CSM Boot.

Save the changes and Exit the BIOS, commonly F10.
 
My only option is uefi, csm isn't on the list

Looks like you need added permissions for disabling secure boot on an Acer, see the Specific steps info here pay particular attention to making a note of any passwords that are set or changed.

You may also need to clear the TPM, what this is and why it may need to be cleared explained here but try the above first if you will.

If the above does not help we will need to wait on the outcome of the ISO test.

I already had a supervisor password and i cleared tpm I still get the error while installing windows and there are not any additional boot options just uefi
