I have an older computer and I can't get it to boot. The computer powers on and I can hear the hard drive starting up but there is no video signal I wondered if it was the graphics card.

I would remove the memory sticks and graphics card (if an extra add-on one is installed) and wipe their circuitry and their contacts and the mobo slot they came from with a brush.

put the components back it and see if it fires up.
